3) "For a couple of dollars"

Auto industry: BMW has started production in its new US factory. There is
much at risk for the heads of the corporation in Munich, who chose the
location in South Carolina partly because of the low wages. Qualified
workers are lacking in the state. In the new plant, former truck drivers as
well as former
garment workers will stand at the assembly lines. If the quality of the
cars from Spartanburg is not up to par, it would be disastrous. Tough tests
for the workers and extremely exact quality controls are intended as
catastrophe-prevention measures.
