Abstracted from their PR. It includes the special networks they intend to set up including Special Police Networks. Now do you feel safe? djf GLOBALNET announced today that Orlando was selected to be the prototype city for a major project, that will install Wide Area Networks (WAN) in each of the 300 metro areas, and link them to the Information Highway. Dan Cetrone, National Director of GLOBALNET, described the project as, "The largest E-Mail network in the world. While all the city agencies are being connected to each other and the Internet, we'll also be compiling the largest business information and metro areas database." The project is the result of 2 years of research and planning, and will cost over $3 million. Special Police Networks: To supplement crime prevention and apprehension systems. This unique project is being implemented by an active Police Chief, and includes monitoring the Internet for "Psybercrime". /CONTACT: Dan Cetrone of GLOBALNET, 407-894-7353/
