                  Computer Entrepreneur Award


              Call for Selection Committee Members




The IEEE Computer Society presents the Computer Entrepreneur Award "to
managers and leaders that are responsible for the growth of some segment
of the computer industry, or technical managers whose entrepreneurial
leadership built the computer industry."


The efforts must have taken place over fifteen years earlier, and the
industry effects must be generally and openly visible.


Past recipients of this award include Gene Amdahl and J. Presper Eckert.




The selection committee is now being formed for the next presentation of
this award.  The committee will establish detailed selection criteria,
solicit nominations from throughout the international computer industry,
evaluate the nominations received, and recommend a selected recipient to
the IEEE-CS Awards Committee.


The IEEE Computer Society is particularly interested in having entrepreneurs
and individuals who have been leaders of companies, laboratories, and
institutes join the selection committee.  A broad, diverse, international
committee is sought, with representation from both hardware and software
communities.


Members of the selection committee are not eligible to be nominated.
To ensure fairness of the selection process, persons from companies of
selection committee members are also not eligible.
