  FOSTER CITY, Calif., April 7 /PRNewswire/ via First! -- The following was
released today by ZD Expos:


  The first live multimedia interactive radio program will be "cybercast"
over the global Internet as part of the Internet Showcase at the
NetWorld(SM)+Interop(R) 94 conference and exhibition, May 3-5, 1994, Las
Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas.  The Internet Showcase will be the
demonstration site linking NetWorld+Interop participants to each other and
the world via the Internet during the three-day "CyberStation" broadcast.
This historical cybercast is expected to reach more than 30 million Internet
users in 140 countries around the globe.


  This live multimedia interactive CyberStation is an experiment unique to
NetWorld+Interop, the premier forum for addressing the networking
interoperability challenges and solutions found in the real world of
enterprise computing.  The CyberStation will highlight "demonstrated
convergence" of voice, text, sound and image technologies on the Internet.
The programming includes world news, technical forums and music to be
cybercast for the duration of the NetWorld+Interop exhibition.  Other
highlights from the cybercast include live popular mainstream broadcast
programs from National Public Radio (NPR) and news reporting by national
correspondents.


  "The demonstration of the world's first CyberStation during the Internet
Showcase brings all of the potential of the network to life," said Dan
Lynch, chairman, Interop Co.  "We are excited that the world will be able to
witness technology convergence for the first time from the NetWorld+Interop
show floor."


  The experiment will be created and supported by some of the brightest
minds in the networking industry including Carl Malamud, founder of Internet
Talk Radio; Mark Andresseen, creator of the encryption standard application
MOSAIC; Jeff Schiller, co-author of Kerbouros; and Marshall Rose, co-
developer of the Internet Telephone Company, and the developer of renowned
networking industry standards such as MIME and SNMP.


  Other highlights scheduled for the Internet Showcase include a live
demonstration of the Internet Telephone Company.  Visitors will be able to
connect on-line and send facsimiles via the Internet.
