A friend sent me this quote, which is supposedly over the door of a
library in Brazil or somewhere:

  Teoria e' quando, se sabe tudo e nada funciona.
  
  Pratica e' quando, tudo funciona e ninguem sabe porque.
  
  Neste recinto uniu-se Teoria a Pratica: Nada funciona e ninguem sabe
  porque.

or
  
  Theory is when you know everything and nothing works;
  Practice is when everything works and nobody knows why;
  Here we combine Theory with Practice:
  Nothing works and nobody knows why.
