Those of you that read today's Wall Street
Journal may have noticed a fairly surreal
description of remote printing in the
Marketplace section.

Just to set the record straight, NASA Ames
Research Center will *NOT* be selling ads
on the cover page of faxes that it sends.
I can't speak for NASA, but it is highly
unlikely that this unique form of government
business cooperation would meet the mission
of NASA or the Ames Research Center.

Marshall Rose and I will be releasing
documents next week that discuss the different
models of operation for remote printer
servers. The tpc.int subdomain allows
a mix of different models, some of which
are commercial organizations that serve a
wide area, some of which are simply servers
for a particular organization.

The press occassionally views the world
through a prism unavailable to the rest
of us. Hope this screwed up article by
the WSJ doesn't cause any problems.

Carl
