Try opsmgr () BELLATLANTIC COM. That has worked for me a few times in the
past.

Having run gte.net mail in the past (prior to verizon granted) there was 1
(one) guy who handled abuse mail. Also the cable in the IP address
designates a cable modem user which was outsourced through road runner, a
year and a half ago it was at least. So you could try them as well. When I
was there we had vrfy turned off . They should still be running intermail
from software.com distributed across a large number of machines. I am not
sure that the vrfy is even accurate because of this.

Hi list,
does anybody here on the list know who i can contact by
gte.net regarding spam?
I (my mailserver) have received in the last 24 hours over
12000 e-mails from this guy at cable31-080.gte.net[24.96.60.80]
I already tryed to contact gte.net over abuse () gte net and asked
them to investigate this but i didn't get any answer.
It is realy becoming a problem since this large ammount of e-mails
is slowing down my mailserver and some of my 7000 user are getting
a little bit pissed off.....
Thank you

vrfy root

vrfy abuse
550 abuse... User unknown
vrfy hostmaster
550 hostmaster... User unknown
vrfy postmaster
250 <postmaster () smtppop1pub verizon net>

So sent your abusemail to postmaster () smtppop1pub verizon net
I've used PuTTY and I had to type "blind", so I couldn't copy/paste the
whole telnet session.
