When you say that they aren't "original" are you saying they're cracks???
It's not a good idea to trust your security to pirated software...that
tends to bite one in the @$$. I believe your suspicions may be correct.
I'd wipe the machine and start over...and never install the "modified"
(read: not original version) again.
