What does

mean? I set up
create router1
[snip]
bind 10.100.1.254 router1
and when I make a telnet 10.100.1.254 I get the above message and telnet does not respond.
What is wrong here?

hi,
please try adding :
route 10.100.1.254 link 10.100.1.254/32
in your configuration.
(and perhaps : route entry 10.100.1.254 if this box is your entry point to your virtual network).

If you're on the same subnet than 10.100.1.254 and you don't want other virtual box, you may want to use ethernet emulation by adding :
set router1 ethernet "whatever_you_want"

hope this help,
regards,
