smtp.sh & ftp.sh error

I am running these two shell scripts and when I telnet
to the machine running them from another machine it
can display the necessary version and all.

**I put these scripts in the /scripts/ folder.
But when I check in the /var/log/messages file, this
is what it says:

such file or directory
