Hi James,

There is a new type of IDS that is being developed called AIRIDS (a paper describing this IDS can be found here: 
http://packetstormsecurity.org/papers/IDS/Architecture.PDF). It&#8217;s components are separated into modules and its 
core module is called the Inventory Module which inventories what ever comprises a given network. With this knowledge, 
it is ideal for training a honeypot to mimic other devices on the network. I am writing the code needed to make this 
honeypot which will consist of two programs, a Perl script and a Bash script.  We are hoping to debut this project this 
forthcoming summer in Las Vegas. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.
