I don't actually think anybody but the reporter actually took this
particular suggestion seriously (just using it as an outre example of why
you have to be careful), but I still think somebody's been watching
"Independence Day" way too many times ...

Well, if they're anything like us,  that would likely be an act of 'cyber
war' and they would look for a kinetic response....end of Earth... Our
planet being turned to vapor would go viral on their version of interstellar
YouTube ... or 'The Universe's Dumbest Planets'.
