Re: The Facebook Commandments

Some of these make sense, but others are just setting you up for problems.

Commandment 1. Thou shalt EXPECT a response? Really? Why? Was this to
create the never-ending thread because every comment posted needs a response?
There are ads now telling people the hotline number to report agressive texting.

Commandments 2,3, and 10 all say the same thing. Respect others.

Commandment 6 just says respect yourself, so tie it to 2, 3, and 10

Commandment 5 would imply that you have a life outside the electronic universe.
While this would be nice, it's way to common to see people having 100's of "friends"
that the only thing they have in common is wasting their life in facebook space.

Maybe Commandment 7 is tied to 5. Don't let it interfere with work, which
reads "get a life", outside of facebook.

Then for the rest, ...
4. If a post is deleted by someone, thou shalt not repost it.
If it's not your comment, so attempt to steal it by re-posting it directly.
Let that thread die.

8. Thou shalt not post information on Facebook that could later backfire.
No tricks or pranks as stuff in facebook is forever. You don't want this
looking bad in 10+ years. See commandment 9.

9. Thou shalt use common sense when interacting with someone.
This should be the primary/only rule. Unfortunately it's impossible for this to
be possible. Some people have all the common sense of a rock. Companies
can't tell you to use common sense as a safety precaution because they
don't know what that means to you.
