By letter of the law or not, this *Feels* wrong. So I am hopeful Mozilla
will do something about it. However, I can't really blame them if they

Good news!

The affected version of FlashGot has been removed from the public view
on AMO, and AMO admins are engaging in conversations with both the
add-on author and Surf Canyon about this issue.

Thanks! That is good news indeed. I appreciate the help you guys have given.

I can't help but wonder if people won't stay stuck with the last version
as they won't want to upgrade to a new one which "installs unwanted
features" while they have it regardless.
