Just block them. Either go through and block everyone with a stupid name and a flesh-colored icon every week, or leave (or reset) the default notification for when someone follows you. Said notification rule is occasionally really annoying if you say something witty that results in a bunch of retweets and followers, but luckily I don't have that problem.
