I've begun research on a piece about how this claim has been made constantly for the last 4 or 5 years at least.
It's nice to know that people realize small devices can get malware, too, and that people are concerned.
I know every year I get pitched about how this is the year of mobile malware
The "year of mobile malware" will come when some (one) mobile OS platform dominates the market. At the moment there does not seem to be any reason that this might happen any time soon. (A "killer app" for small devices would change that, of course ...) (No, the iPhone does not qualify. It has to be not just "cool," but affordable [in both purchase and use], and utilitarian enough that people will dump existing devices to get one. In very large numbers.) ====================== (quote inserted randomly by Pegasus Mailer) rslade () vcn bc ca slade () victoria tc ca rslade () computercrime org You should know enough mathematics to protect yourself against it - Richard Wesley Hamming victoria.tc.ca/techrev/rms.htm blogs.securiteam.com/index.php/archives/author/p1/ _______________________________________________ Fun and Misc security discussion for OT posts. https://linuxbox.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/funsec Note: funsec is a public and open mailing list.
