Microsoft does many things wrong, but one thing it does very well is
long-term support for its products. This is really true. OS X 10.3.9 was the current version just about 3 years ago and now they don't even do security updates for it. You see similar stuff from Sun, Red Hat, etc. Microsoft will be supporting Windows 2000, I think, until 2010. I think this is one of the big reasons businesses stick with them.
