Gosh, this is sooo '99! The nice guys at netmag.cz had their own TLD 
server for .exe domain running back on 1.10.1999, and, if I recall 
correctly, they even managed to convince some ISPs to add their nameserver 
to the big list. Oh, and the registration was free, as in beer :-)
