Maybe -- at least from a cryptography perspective....

But then what about Witt Diffie? Or Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir, and
Leonard Adleman (RSA)?

What about Marcus Ranum, Steve Bellovin, Bill Cheswick?

Fred Cohen?

All of these guys were pioneers in the security field in one way
or another.

But I suppose the operative words are "influential" and "today", but
I disagree with perhaps most of Naraine's list anyways. :-)
