You have to go through an extra security check.  But you can get on without an ID. 

And I believe you're going to get checked a couple of times after that just to be safe, even if you have an ID.  You 
get on some list.

  I've always had to show ID to get on a plane, even before 9/11.  If airlines are really prevented by law from 
requiring any kind of ID, how come they ask for one?  Although maybe they require ID to get the Ticket, but not to get 
on the plane?  Interesting....
