Listen again to Sophos on BBC Radio 4's "Virus Wars" documentary

Listen again to BBC Radio 4's "Virus Wars" documentary.
Listeners to BBC Radio 4 had a chance to hear behind-the-scenes at
SophosLabs™, Sophos's global network of virus and spam analysis centers,
in a documentary broadcast this morning.

Reporter Quentin Cooper interviewed anti-virus experts, and victims of
virus attacks such as the British CoastGuard who were hit by the prevalent
Sasser worm in 2004.

The documentary also charts the evolution of computer viruses from the
floppy disk boot sector infections which emerged in the mid 1980s, to
macro viruses, to email and then internet worms.

"The documentary makes interesting listening, and is bang up-to-date with
information about James Ancheta who recently pleaded guilty to running a
massive network of zombie computers," said Carole Theriault, senior
security consultant for Sophos. "Some listeners may have been surprised to
hear that Ancheta managed to infect and control computers at US military
bases for his own ends."

The half hour radio programme, produced by Campbell Davison Media, can be
listened to on BBC Radio 4's website.
