Additionally, 1) Twitter doesn't provide a proper archive functionality 2) when you find a reference to random Twitter page of unknown person you have to know is it reliable etc. Juha-Matti Chris [r0ck () operamail com] kirjoitti:
No doubt. Twitter replacing FD is just absurd. Sure. Let's all move to a 3rd party service that: 1) isn't profitable; 2) is liable to do some crazy ass shit to start making money (i.e. get your FD twitters with ads in the future? charge to post security vulns to the FD twitter feed?); and 3) falls over and dies under heavy load. Heaven forbid if some famous movie star dies, we might not get FD twitters for weeks while Twitter struggles with the celebrity load. Email works. Email is almost universally accessible. Stick with what works.----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean-Christophe Baptiste" <jc () phocean net> To: full-disclosure () lists grok org uk Subject: Re: [Full-disclosure] SecurityFocus to partially shut down Date: Sun, 14 Mar 2010 08:20:42 +0100 Not everyone yet uses Twitter and still it doesn't work or look like a mailing-list, so you can't compare. Thery all show the info in a different way, so they are all complementary . I don't really see a need for Full-disclosure mailing list now either. People can post code and messages on blogs and post the link to Twitter, thats how the threat landscape of the future will look, we don't really need mailing lists now for straight forward vulnerability disclosure.
