I was doing a forensic examination on Microsoft's Virtual PC 2004 software, and came across some Microsoft pictures I hadn't seen on an installed version of Windows 98 before. I know this isn't much of an exploit/vulnerability, but it makes for good viewing. If they're nothing new, then please disregard. :) You can view the PDF file by going to http://www.genxforensics.com/files/win98_pics.pdf
Those pictures are shown as a slideshow in a hidden easter egg in windows 98. See http://www.fliptech.net/win98egg.shtml and http://www.windows-help.net/windows98/tune-232.shtml (from the first page of results for 'win98 easter egg" on google ;) To activate this, you're supposed to click on certain spots in the time zone window. Anyone remember windows 95, where the time zone world map scrolled to highlight the spots you selected? Makes you wonder if they disabled the scrolling just to be able to put in this easter egg :) _______________________________________________ Full-Disclosure - We believe in it.
