RE: Foundstone's Future as Part of McAfee

DISCLAIMER: I have been a Principal Consultant employed by Foundstone
for over 4 years.

I replied offline to Tom Ryan, but since you asked Tremaine, I feel I
should try to clear up some potential misconceptions.

Of course there exists the possibility of change and the creation of
some new product based service offerings. However, my first job was on a
Product Services team developing custom code to build unique features
that met our even stranger customer's requirements. It was such a
challenge integrating and customizing parts of our product suite to
build a comprehensive suite that was exactly what certain customers
needed. Personally, I see this as a great opportunity for FS employees
to try new things based on all the new opportunities we are faced with.
Yup, some of the Foundstone Family may opt to undertake these new
exciting challenges and join our already successful Product Service team
others will stick with the traditional FS services and training that we
have loved for the past several years. Whatever the choice, those who
strive to meet the challenges of achieving success within McAfee will be
rewarded.

"Together, the combined entity will offer a more comprehensive suite of
risk management solutions, greater professional service capabilities,
increased levels of sales and technical support, and greater research
and development investment to best meet the growing and dynamic risk
management market." -George Kurtz, Foundstone CEO

In my opinion, (I am not a founder nor an Exec) there is no way McAfee
would scrap the traditional FS offerings we built our reputation upon
like Penetration Tests, Architecture/Infrastructure Reviews,
Vulnerability Assessments, Product Testing, Web Application Assessments,
the new S3i - Strategic Secure Software Initiative, and our many
hands-on training classes. The market demand for these Foundstone
services is as strong and profitable as ever.

"Foundstone also brings an elite Professional Services organization that
will become part of the McAfee Expert Services team, which will be
leveraged for deep security expertise and best practices to help
businesses identify and prioritize valued assets and implement
established methods to protect them." -www.foundstone.com (Press
Release)

"It is our understanding that Foundstone will remain a subsidiary and
will continue to sell and support the products and services as we have
in the past, and our primary goal-to exceed customer expectations and
deliver the best products and services available today-will not change."
-George Kurtz, Foundstone CEO

With Foundstone being purchased by McAfee, will the services
Foundstone offered change? Is it going to be more product focused or
will they still be performing Pen Tests and offering training classes?
