Guys - Could we please limit the length of included replies on this list, to something sane? Quoting the entire thread is very annoying.
Even worse than the length of the message, I couldn't find a single line of new content in Mr Neilsen's post! And he included the note from the list manager stating "When replying please edit your Subject line so it is more specific than 'Re: Contents of Full-Disclosure digest..." :-) To the list owners, I would like to propose two things. I'm not sure if mailman allows the the first, and I am certain that it allows the second. Both would be good, but the second would reduce noise all by itself: 1. Bounce any message that includes the instructive text from the digest, as the poster clearly has not trimmed anything. (e.g. the instruction to edit your subject line) 2. Add a regex to bounce/require approval for messages with a subject containing "Re: Full-Disclosure digest, Vol" as it is almost certainly someone who is blatantly ignoring your instructions. If something like this doesn't go into effect soon and the noise continues, it's time to add a procmail recipe :-) Regards, petard - -- "Wall Street indices predicted nine out of the last five recessions!" -- Paul A.
