New worm--no excuses this time

Like a Frankenstein's monster of code, MSBlast consists of several
programs cobbled together to do one job: spread across the Internet to
target a denial of service attack on Microsoft. CNET News.com's Charles
Cooper says that after two decades' worth of Swiss cheese software
security, Microsoft has run out of excuses. Or have they? Microsoft's
chief security strategist said this week that "half of all crashes in
Windows are caused not by Microsoft code, but third-party code." Tell
that to David Coursey, who details his trip to Windows hell.
