Is there any real proof of this or is it nothing but a bunch of
misinformation directed at the big bad evil corporation?

Seriously, where is the proof?

I was part of several hacker and cracker groups before entering the
white-hat side. So what?

So it depends much on what you do. You could have the belief that some
people are worth being hacked, and some others secure, of course.

But if you were moderator of bugtraq, a "full-disclosure" mailing list, it
would obviously just be another proof that all you want is more hacked
boxes, and more work and $$$.

That would be a total lack of integrity.
