I think they have done a seperate (payed) test with the same testing house which showed different results
from the test that the testing house independently performed for the report.

Looking forward to the report too :-D

So they paid a 3rd party to come test their product is what I get from
that sentence. Now that company is releasing the report? I could
understand how they might be upset but was their no NDA or even SOW
before the test? I've never heard of a company having a test like
this done and not having something in place that says the results are
confidential and to only be released to the client.

I'll be interested to see the report and who did the testing.

Before the report is even published by an un-named test lab, TippingPoint is

"In the next several days, a report will be published by a small
third-party test house that evaluated various intrusion prevention
solutions...As much as we would like to endorse the report and interspersed
commentary, we are unable to do so. There are more than a few discrepancies
between the report findings and what our customers have experienced, what we
have found in our own testing and other third-party test results. In fact,
the results are significantly different from the results we found during
paid private testing with this test house a few weeks ago. We made every
effort to engage with this test house and understand the gap between the
report findings and the various other test findings. We even asked the test
house to briefly delay the report until we could work together to reconcile
the differences. The test house refused to do so. It's unfortunate this type
of information has been [sic] published but we will nonetheless continue to
work on behalf of our customers and engage with third-party test houses to
validate and help us improve our industry leading solutions."
