Tool Announce: LogAgent 5.0

Hello all.

This is to announce the release of the latest version of LogAgent, which is 
now at version 5.0, available at http://securit.iquebec.com both as Open 
Source and commercial downloads.

Like its predecessors, LogAgent 5.0 is a logfile monitoring and 
centralising agent for Windows, able to do so for almost any ASCII log file 
and for the events in the Event Viewer (which then becomes converted to 
text).  This is done in real-time, with very little CPU-consumption, and 
you can send the output to any number of servers or consoles you want, or 
even the printer.  With version 5.0, LogAgent is now also available for 
Windows 9x/Me.

Changes from last version for the Open Source version : it is now the 
code-equivalent of LogAgent 4.0 Pro, minus the code for running it as a 
service, and minus some code that have been moved to the SIDTk 1.0 for 
effeciency reasons.  This means mainly that log file maintenance is now 
taken care for, which enable LogAgent to maintain its performance 
levels.  2 minor bugs have also been fixed.

Changes from last version to the commercial version : now have analysis 
capabilities similar to LogIDS 2.0 with a basic ruleset, enabling the log 
analysis to be distributed when combined with LogIDS 2.0.  When running as 
a service (registered), it can also manages to launch automatically the 
modules form the SIDTk every X seconds and automatic filelocking of the 
config files.  Other modules can also be easily created or added to the mix.

The commercial version comes with a 5-machines evaluation license, no 
time-limit.
