You are describing our 3-DNS global load balancing product. It used to be a completely separate box from our BIG-IP local load balancer. Now 3-DNS is built on the same base OS and comes either standalone, or as an add-on module to BIG-IP. Regards, JMH Roger Marquis wrote:
Big/ip is really a different animal, designed for DNS-based load balancing across physically remote networks. If you don't mind delegating DNS, and need to balance across colos, F5 is most popular tool for the job. If you're balancing within a single colo or comm closet, however, get a Foundry.
