Follow up on CISSP Verification

I am posting a response that a Gartner Analyst got from ISC2 to the issue about verifying CISSP certifications.

Hi Roberta,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, can Laura tell me who she spoke
to or which # she called into?  Then I can address this with the whole staff
at that location.

Here is what I have found out regarding 3rd party verification.  
If they call any of our locations and have the name and certification ID# of
the potential employee then we can confirm if they are or are not a CISSP or
SSCP.    If they do not have the ID# then we can not verify because of
similar names, Bill Jones or Bill Smith etc...
In addition the potential employer can go out to ISC2.org; click on POST
CERTIFICATION (not on anything that drops down) click on Certification
Verification and enter the last name.  This is a database that is all active
certified constituents.  Currently that is all you will need, but when the
new web site is done you will need both the ID# and name.

If you want I will be happy to look this potential employer for Laura, or
she can on the web site.  Please apologize to her for not getting the
information she wanted.
