Hi there -- I'm guessing that "sys_message" usually indicates something generated by the underlying host OS of the FireWall-1, not the firewall software itself - tho' how that manages to end up in the firewall log I can't imagine. Have you looked at the syslog or EventViewer data for the time at which this message showed up, to see if anything there helped explain things? tbird "I was being patient, but it took too long." - Anya, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" Log Analysis: http://www.counterpane.com/log-analysis.html VPN: http://kubarb.phsx.ukans.edu/~tbird/vpn.html On Sun, 3 Feb 2002, Tamas FORJAN wrote:
Hello, does anybody know what does "sys_message: string error" mean in the log of NG FP1? No service, source, destination, or other useful information is given by Log Viewer about such packets, only the Info field is present. (I suspect it might be related to macintosh clients in the network, but have no idea what this really means) Thanks, -- FORJAN Tamas Technical Support 2F 2000 Szamitastechnikai es Szolgaltato Kft. http://www.2f.hu/ _______________________________________________ firewall-wizards mailing list firewall-wizards () nfr com http://list.nfr.com/mailman/listinfo/firewall-wizards
