Hi

Which is better: CISSP or SANS qualifications (eg. level-1)

Better for what? CISSP is very broad based, and not a technical
certification by any means, perhaps better suited to those on a management
track in their careers. Many of the SANS certs are more technical in
nature, especially those in the lower tracks, and better suited to those
doing hand-on technical work, admins, firewall maintainers, network
folks...

But, a certification without real life on the job experience, as many have
argued proves only you are able to pass a test, not apply what you were
supposedly taught in a working environment. You need only purues the list
archives for many of the more recent threads relating to these debates on
the value and merit of certifications.
