dul-level DNS

I am trying to understand better this technology much proported by
Raptor/Raptor consultants. I am working on what we call a WAN project
linking by VPN geographically desperate sites as well as providing internet
firewalling to those LANs behind the four primary sites. My $.02 view is
that the Raptor's dnsd helps direct name requests among the sites and into
those child domains while also expediently passing external requests to a
root. We are also throwing Active Directory in the mix creating a very
complex issue. Docs, URLs, or any other words of wisdom are greatly
appreciated. Thank y'all.
