The cygwin stuff is a straight maintained port of openssh 2 - so you get ssh
1 & 2 in the same binaries.

As near as I can tell, the cygwin stuff is only ssh1, and I need ssh2 to
go
along with the ssh2 servers on the real (unix) machines. But the
installation description certainly sounds about the right level, and is
simpler than anything else I have seen for the cygwin version.

This is certainly intriguing for those of us saddled with NT. Anyone
know how it compares to this (which is free):

I finally found a commercial ssh2 server (beta version now) that runs
on
NT. It is called Vshell, from Van Dyke Technologies:

Does anyone have any experience with this? Or, since it is a very new
product, is someone willing to try it and tell us how it behaves? If
we
can use Windoze connections through an ssh tunnel, that would solve
some
security issues for us.
