Hmmm, the words "chalk" ad "cheese" spring to mind. They are about as different as you get, and probably the only thing they have in commen is the hardware (sometimes) and the fact that they are both basically packet filters. (even then FW1 has some app proxies) Points: - Sunscreens are transparent - FW1 isn't an OS. (Sunscreens are a *modified* Solaris, with bits) - Sunscreens have a dedicated management i/f carried over skip. - Each sunscreen knows is own config, FW1 boxes need a mgmt machine (which can be itself) [etc] Ack, it's a Looooong list!
