Many thanks to anonymous, although with hindsight it turns out I already had
that information. Can't remember where I originally found it, but I note it
is now included in Stefan Norberg's guide to "Building a Windows NT bastion
host in practice" at:

Anyway, just tried fixing RPC ports a la cited KB article and can confirm
that  it *does* work on an NT SP6 box. (It only half-worked on the same
machine with an earlier SP version, possibly SP4, but that may have been
some other config problem).
