Please excuse my ignorance I am new, but I keep hearing about this product Back Officer Friendly.....
It's shareware/freeware from NFR. You can get UNIX source code for it, or a Windows-32 version from: http://www.nfr.net/bof BOF isn't really an intrusion detection system - it's a scan alert for Back Orifice. It can spoof some services and will beep up a storm if someone runs a port scan or probe on your machine. Mostly, it exists to give people a good idea of how often they are scanned by script-kiddies. mjr. -- Marcus J.
