I'm not sure that majordomo is the problem here. Didn't Marcus admit to hitting the wrong button? Anywy, this is close but not quite the correct solution as when Majordomo runs it does so as a different, non-priviledged (sp?) user, and so sendmail won't accept certain options. Subject: Re: Slight hole in the way Majordomo handles email. Off topic, but interesting nonetheless. How about this: 1. Move the *-outgoing aliases out to a new file. 2. Make a second sendmail.cf with the new file as an additional AliasFile and an alternate QueueDirectory writeable by the majordomo user (because sendmail won't run as root with -C). 3. Add "-C/path/to/new/sendmail.cf" to $sendmail_command in majordomo.cf This way sendmail only knows about the listname-outgoing aliases when
majordomo
runs it.
The way recommended in the documentation is to have separate alias files, but that the one run at boot is only given a partial list, i.e. doesn't include the outgoing list aliases. I'm sure I've seen it mentioned in the Majordomo documentation somewhere, and will dig up the full details, if needed.
