Sandy,

FreeBSD, Linux, and Solaris have all had support for IPv6 for at
least a year now. My guess is most of the other Unix variants also
contain that support. Im not so sure about NT, perhaps that will be
solved by Win2k though?

The 6bone is a research network of both commercial and educational
organizations that has existed since the earliest reference
implementations of the protocol. A good place to check out what is
going on with IPv6 is http://www.6bone.net/ .

I think that this would be an appropriate list to ask
this question about IP security.

when is and how would the shift to IP ver 6 start ?

are there any IP ver 6 products out in the market,
so that one could get a beta atleast. All major OS
vendors would have to support IP ver 6. so in effect
all TCP/IP stacks would be IP ver 6 compatible( and
ofcourse be IP ver 4 compatible too).

I would be greatly interested to interact with persons
who like discussing this topic. please email me so that
we could discuss this issue(topic) .
any other list where I could ask this...

please email me your replies

thanks

sandy
