Note: reasons given to me for using neT.120 Conference Server were taken from http://www.databeam.com/net120/top_ten.html. Interesting that companies such as GE, Ford, Boeing, FileNet and MCI use NetMeeting.
This basically indicates that their organisational "imperatives" dictate security policy, rather than the other way around. Be careful of drawing a false conclusion - "GE, Ford, Boeing, FileNet and MCI (all big, reputable organisations) use NetMeeting - ergo=> it's secure". How many times have we seen this in the wonderful world of IT security? "...Look: the Boss wants us to get this application up and running, so he will get it (regardless of our security policy)"... And... for that matter, security (or the lack or it) always presents a "threat", with varying degrees of risk depending on all the parameters of your gateway. It just depends on how much risk your organisation is prepared to sign off on. Regards, Christopher ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Christopher A.
