An article in the Ottawa Citizen today talks about Ciso inking a large contract to use the QNX OS in Cisco products. Since QNX is an Unix like real-time OS that runs in a tiny microkernel, Cisco would probably use it in distributed security applications, replacing the old OS in PIX. QNX has a good reputation for reliability and speed.
