It has been said that Trusted Solaris (Orange Book B2-level) runs Off-The- Shelf software. Would it then be able to run Checkpoint FW-1 ?
Quick answer off my mind would be that no, FW-1 probably will not run on Trusted Solaris, and even if it would run without breaking, it probably would not give you as much security you would believe B2 to have. The first step in hardening FW-1 is using Memco's SeOS for FW-1 which now gets distributed through FW-1 resellers. Basically it helps to improve a little bit your FW-1 installation, acces to /etc/fw/ , it does distribute access to FW-1 between many administrators etc. Never tried or looked at it really besides reading the manual, but I believe it is something on your way to B2 firewalls (which in reality probably do not exist).
