For us, 30 days for both, unless we have received a preservation of documents request, in which case it’s held until we 
receive a release notice.

Afternoon,

I wanted to poll you all regarding email retention.


  1.  How long is email held for retrieval in active mailboxes by default? (regardless if the user deletes an item)
  2.  After an employee leaves your organization how long do you retain that mailbox?

The underlying reason is for litigation hold purposes.
