Dear Colleagues,

Our friends in the EU have spun up a sister IAM Online series, and this next month’s episode looks especially
interesting to those of us in the identity and security arenas.

Cheers,
Ann

    Dear all,

    Apologies for cross-posting.

The next IAMOnline Europe webinar, Moving toward GDPR, will be delivered
by Andrew Cormack (JISC) and will take place on the 31st of October at
    14.00 CET Time.

Given the interest in the topic, we kindly ask people to register so we
can select the best online tool depending on the expected number of
    attendees:

    *About this webinar *
By May 2018, EU member states will have to adopt the General Data
Protection Regulation (GDPR). The new regulation is meant to replace the
previous Directive and aims to give citizens more control on the
    processing of personal data.
This online session will explain the new approach taken by the GDPR (and
the proposed ePrivacy Regulation), the main areas of difference, and the
changes it will require to how organisations think about their
    processing of personal data.

    *Expected outcome *
Following the online briefing, attendees will be able to:

      * Describe the main differences between the GDPR and previous data
        protection law
      * Identify the areas organisations will need to include in their GDPR
        planning
      * Better understand information lifecycles for data processing for
        which they are responsible

    *Who should attend*
Staff responsible for enabling processes to handle personal data, and/or
involved in their organisation’s plans for implementing the GDPR.

    Regards,

    Licia
