As the 12th anniversary of National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM) wraps up, we would like to thank the higher
education community for another successful celebration! Colleges and universities continue to offer fun, creative
activities and events for students, faculty, staff, and their local communities. Here are just a few highlights.

  * NCSAM Champions: Over 140 higher education institutions showed their support as official champions, along with
individuals, businesses, organizations, and government agencies.
  * NCSAM Activities: More than 200 institutions shared their plans during the month of October. See what events took
place by visiting the NCSAM Resource Kit:
https://wiki.internet2.edu/confluence/display/2014infosecurityguide/NCSAM+Resource+Kit
  * Guest Blogs: 29 guest bloggers provided fresh security and privacy content almost daily in the new EDUCAUSE
Review Security Matters blog column: http://er.educause.edu/columns/security-matters
  * Webinars: Recordings are available for the October 7 EDUCAUSE Live! webinar (Creating a Culture of Cybersecurity
and Safety on Your Campus and in Your Community) and the October 21 InCommon IAM Online webinar (Multifactor
Authentication: Campus Deployment Case Studies) at http://www.educause.edu/ncsam.
  * Twitter: Colleges and universities joined the daily #CyberAware conversation and weekly #ChatSTC Twitter chats to
help share resources and tips.

2016 Campus Security Awareness Campaign

You may be wondering: "How can we keep the momentum going throughout the year?" It’s not enough for your faculty,
students, and staff to practice safe computing in just October when there are so many threats and risks to be aware of
throughout the year!

In 2016 the HEISC Awareness and Training Working Group is offering a new tool to support security professionals and IT
communicators as they develop or enhance their annual security awareness plans. The 2016 Campus Security Awareness
Campaign provides:

  * A printable 2016 calendar with monthly security awareness topics
  * 12 blog posts on the monthly topics with ready-made content for your campus communication channels
  * Monthly guest blogs in the Security Matters column

Thank you for helping us make students, faculty, and staff #CyberAware in October and all year!
