Greetings Colleagues,

Are you starting to develop awareness campaigns for 2016? We have some new resources that may be helpful as you begin
selecting topics and developing content: http://www.educause.edu/securityawareness

The Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC) Awareness and Training Working Group has developed an annual
campus security awareness campaign framework designed to support security professionals and IT communicators as they
develop or enhance their own security awareness plans. Resources include:

  * A printable 2016 calendar with monthly security awareness topics
  * 12 blog posts on the monthly topics with ready-made content for your campus communications channels (January,
February, & March are now available - see links below)
  * Monthly guest blogs in the Security Matters column of EDUCAUSE Review (January and February guest blogs will
focus on privacy and data privacy since Data Privacy Day is January 28, 2016)
How to Use the Campaign Materials
The campaign calendar provides monthly security awareness topics that security professionals and IT communicators can
integrate into campus communications. Using the additional ready-made content below, you can create a steady stream of
privacy and security awareness information for faculty, students, and staff. Adapt the content to make it work with
your current plans and campus needs-promote each suggested topic monthly or use a 90-day awareness plan to promote a
group of topics quarterly.

Monthly Security Awareness Blog Posts
Each blog is written with end users in mind so you can quickly and easily adapt content for your campus awareness
program, whether it's using the pre-written content for a blog or newsletter, or sharing suggested resources as tweets
or Facebook posts. Additional resources, including posters, videos, and external references, are also provided.

  * January: Guard Your Privacy Online (#Privacy):

The next set of blog posts with content (April-June) will be available in February/March 2016, so please stay tuned!

We welcome your questions and feedback.

Thank you and Happy Holidays!

Wiam
