Automated Asset Management - Standards

Good Morning,

Has anyone deployed an Automated Asset Management tool (e.g., Casper) to
track inventory and patching of desktops/laptops, and has standards they
are willing to share? (e.g., how long would a device have to be out of
communication with the network before you'll research why?)
