Hi Carlos,

You may be interested in the recent EDUCAUSE Center for Analysis and Research (ECAR) working group paper on this topic:
The Compelling Case for Data Governance. This new paper identifies the risks of not having effective data governance,
the benefits of a good, well-implemented governance strategy, and the essential purposes and activities of a data
governance program.

We will be following up this introductory paper with work on a guide on establishing stewardship models. It will define
data stewards and managers, their roles and responsibilities, and special skills or training that is needed.

A link to the paper (currently available to ECAR members) and more info on the stewardship project can be found at:

Best,
Karen

Subject: [SECURITY] Formal Data Governance Program

Hello Colleagues,

If your University has established a Formal Data Governance Program, I would highly appreciate a link to your program
on the web if publicly accessible and/or sharing the contact information for the person(s) responsible for this program.

We have been working on IT Governance and Data Governance comes next and would like to see how data governance is being
practiced at other institutions.

Thanks in advance,
