Good afternoon,

The 11th annual VASCAN conference will be held at Virginia Commonwealth
University this year. The conference will explore the evolution of
Information security and privacy in the near and more distant future as
citizens/consumers, organizations and legislative/regulatory bodies adapt
to the more pervasively interconnected and mobile technology world. IT
managers, IT security professionals, technical staff and auditors from
higher education, K-12, government and law enforcement are all encouraged
to attend this very informative conference.

During the conference, attendees will hear from their peers and industry
recognized experts on topics related to information security, IT risk
management, IT regulatory compliance and advanced threat and defense
techniques. In addition to various presentation sessions, SANS will be
back to provide a training course on the second day of the conference.
This year's offering is *SEC 524: Cloud Security Fundamentals taught by
course author David Shackelford*.

The conference registration cost is $125. For those who are interested in
the SANS training, the cost of both the conference and the SANS training is
$300. In addition to access to the sessions and optional SANS training,
both registration packages include breakfast and lunch on both days, access
to the conference vendor area, event parking, post-conference reception on
the first day and a conference tote stuffed with promotional items and
other goodies.
